J.R. Lynn Johnston, B.A., C.R.T.

Lynn Johnston has worked as a consultant/trainer with the Institute for Human Services – Canada over 8 years. This work has involved travel throughout United States and Canada and delivery of curriculum to government officials, agency directors, executives, managers and supervisors.

Previous to working with IHS – Canada, Lynn was involved in the education field for over 33 years. In the early part of his education career, he taught math and physics to high school students. Later he was involved in counselling secondary school students and eventually served as Head of Guidance at a secondary school. During the final five years of his education career, Lynn served as President of District 11 of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers. During this time he also was involved with the Provincial Federation Mediation Council, eventually chairing this council for two years.

Lynn has been involved in the writing of many different articles, booklets and books. Articles such as A Far Out Tale ; Explanation Please and Retirement Glides into A Classic; booklets such as Sharing Secrets and a book Matched Luggage. Currently he is co-authoring a book on marriage fundamentals.

Throughout the last decade Lynn has delivered numerous workshops on a variety of topics such as: Conflict Resolution; Mediation; Communication Skills; Interpersonal Skills; Time Management; Stress Management; Problem Solving; Organizational Skills; Counselling Skills and Reality Therapy.

Lynn has been involved with the church throughout his entire life. In fact his grandfather was a minister. As a child he attended the Presbyterian church in a number of different communities and after marriage he served the United church for twelve years on the Board of Stewards and an additional ten years as an elder. After moving to Barrie, Ontario, Lynn became a member of Mapleview Community Church where he served as a member of the Servants’ Board. Lynn enjoys spending time with others, mentoring and chatting through life’s issues. His desire to be obedient to the Great Commission has led him to help develop LAMb International and to assist in the delivery of the various trainings throughout the world. As doors continue to open and opportunities arise his desire is to always respond, yes Lord.

Lynn and his wife Ruby live in Angus, Ontario, Canada. One of the continuing joys in their lives is spending time with their seven grandchildren, who are scattered from the west coast – British Columbia to the east coast – North Carolina.
